If you just inserted a new SIM, switched phones, or forgot your line, this guide shows the fastest ways to check your du mobile number with and without data. We also explain what’s actually possible when you want to check the du SIM owner in the UAE.

Quick answer (fastest options)

  • du App (recommended): Open Profile / My Account—your number is shown on the line card.
  • USSD (offline): Dial *116#. On many lines, your number appears on screen or via flash/SMS.
  • SMS fallback: Send NUMBER to 1355 (works on many lines); you’ll get an auto-reply with your number.
  • No phone access? Check your SIM jacket/welcome pack or look up the activation SMS.
  • Need all lines under your ID? Use TDRA “Hesabati” (via UAE Pass) to see numbers registered against your Emirates ID.

Note: USSD/SMS behaviors can vary by plan, language, and device. If a code doesn’t respond, use the du App or the TDRA portal for authoritative results.

Method 1 — du App

Steps (30–60 sec)

  1. Open the du App and sign in.
  2. Tap Profile / My Account.
  3. Your mobile number (MSISDN) is displayed on the active line.

If you can’t log in:

  • Tap Forgot password, or use UAE Pass login if prompted.
  • For eSIM or a secondary line, swipe/choose the correct line card.
  • If you’re roaming with data off, connect to Wi-Fi to sign in.

Method 2 — USSD (works without data)

Steps (under 20 sec)

  1. Open the phone dialer.
  2. Dial *116# and press call.
  3. Wait for the on-screen/flash reply; note the number.
Dial 116# to view du number on screen

Why USSD might fail

  • Roaming, network congestion, or dual-SIM routing to the wrong SIM slot.
  • Language/menu differences.
  • Temporary service changes. If it fails twice, use Method 1 or Method 4.

Method 3 — SMS quick reply

Steps (under 30 sec)

  1. Open Messages.
  2. Text NUMBER to 1355.
  3. You should receive an automated SMS showing your du number.

Notes

  • 1355 is du’s standard service short code; replies are usually instant.
  • If you get a help menu instead, reply with BAL or open the app.

Method 4 — Call IVR or a friend

  • IVR (from the SIM): Call 155 and follow prompts related to My Account / My number.
  • Call/SMS a friend: Ask them to read back the caller ID they see. (Requires active call/SMS ability.)

Method 5 — Physical SIM / device settings

  • SIM pack/jacket: Your number is often printed on the SIM card holder or welcome slip (sometimes alongside the PUK).
  • Phone settings (may be blank):
  • Android: Settings → About phone → SIM status → My phone number
  • iPhone: Settings → Phone → My Number.
Some devices let you edit this field; if it’s blank, use another method above.

Method 6 — See all numbers registered to you

If your goal is to confirm ownership/du number owner, UAE privacy rules allow you to view numbers linked to your Emirates ID, not the private details of someone else.

Options

  • du App / in-store: Check your registered ID on the line; update registration by visiting a du store with your Emirates ID.
  • TDRA “Hesabati”: Sign in with UAE Pass to see all mobile/fixed numbers registered under your Emirates ID across operators.

Pro Tip:
If a number appears under your Emirates ID that you don’t recognize, report it through du support or via TDRA so the line can be investigated or de-registered.

Edge cases & fixes

  • Dual-SIM phones: Ensure the du SIM is in SIM 1, select it as the calling SIM, then retry USSD/SMS.
  • eSIM only: The du App is the most consistent; ensure the eSIM profile is active.
  • Roaming without data: USSD may work, but the App over Wi-Fi or IVR 155 is more reliable.
  • Language (EN/AR): If menus appear in Arabic, switch device language or use the app where labels are clearer.
  • No response from codes: Toggle Airplane mode (10 seconds), then try again; or reboot the phone.

Mini case example

On a dual-SIM Android handset with an eSIM (du) and a physical SIM (other carrier), *116# returned “service not available” until the user set du as the calling SIM. After switching, *116# displayed the du number correctly; the du App showed the same line under My Account.

FAQs

What is the current du number check code?
The most commonly used code is *116#. If it doesn’t respond on your plan, use the du App or SMS to 1355 as shown above.

Is there a free way to see my number offline?
Yes—USSD usually works without data. Otherwise, call 155 or check your SIM pack.

Can I find the owner name of a random du number?
No. You can confirm your registration via the du App, in-store with Emirates ID, or TDRA “Hesabati.” UAE privacy rules don’t allow public owner lookups.

Why does my phone show “Unknown number”?
That field can be empty or editable. Use App/USSD/SMS for an authoritative value.
